Face Of Fiber in the Rockies

What better than a fiber art exhibit for an excuse to travel up to Estes Park, Colorado?! I was so honored to received second place in the exhibit! There was an amazing display of talent and innovative use of materials in the exhibit! Thanks to everyone who came out to the show – it was great to see you!

“Presence” Artist Talk

Headed to Denver Friday night to share about my work “Onion Study No. 1” with Christos Collective. I always enjoy talking about my work and process. It was a great night dialoging with other presence talk DSCN2967 DSCN2988 IMG_0028artists about why we do what we do!

On The Land Exhibit Opening

“Until we understand what the land is, we are at odd with everything we touch” – Wendell Berry

It was a  thought provoking evening at the opening of On The Land at Gallery 970! Loved how the show was curated and it was an interesting dialogue between textures and lines in the art of the show. Opening night also had some awesome place-based activities for kids and literary engagement with the community. And, my work sold on opening night!

Gallery 970 Opening

“Until we understand what the land is, we are at odds with everything we touch.”
—Wendell Berry, The Art of Commonplace: The Agrarian Essays

To understand the land we must interact with it. Though our chances to connect with and work on the land have greatly diminished over the last century, there is still a yearning for it. On the Land includes works from local artists that focus on human interaction with our land.

I will have some new work exhibited in this inaugural show at Gallery 970. If you are in the Northern Colorado area, come out for the gallery opening tomorrow night!

Exhibit runs May 22-June 26
Opening: June 5, 6-9pm
Regular Gallery Hours (beginning May 22):
Thursday-Saturday 11am-6pm
